Theodora Althea Czartosieski
Theodora Althea (Bobinski) Czartosieski, matriarch of the Bobinski family, born Aug. 19, 1922, at home on Osborne Avenue, Riverhead, to parents Bruno and Althea (Ruskowski) Bobinski, entered into eternal life on Aug. 8, 2017, just a few days shy of what would have been her 95th birthday.
A remembrance of Joan Robbins, “Remembering Joan Robbins in New Suffolk,” will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Cutchogue New Suffolk Library. Ms. Robbins, who was a resident of Peconic Landing in Greenport and a former resident of New Suffolk, died May 5.

Evelyn Lloyd Bergen, a longtime resident of Southold, died peacefully at home on Aug. 2, 2017.
MaryLou Merasco of Moosup, Conn., died March 10, 2017, at the Plainfield (Conn.) Emergency Care Center. She was 73 years old.
Mary Elizabeth Curry
Mary Elizabeth Curry passed away July 27 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by loved ones, in Southold. She was born in Southampton May 7, 1928, to Mary (Callahan) Seely and William Seely and was one of seven children.
Sally A. Haupt
Sally A. Haupt died Aug. 6 at Peconic Landing in Greenport. She was 99.
Ms. Haupt was born Nov. 18, 1917.

Robert F. Karsch of Cutchogue and formerly of Garden City died March 28, 2017. Bob was born April 15, 1941, to Edward and Theresa Karsch in Floral Park, N.Y., and was a graduate of Sewanhaka High School (’59) and Syracuse University (’64) and received an MBA from Hofstra University.
Even though my column was long put to bed when I first heard about Pierre Gazarian’s death last Tuesday, I had to find the time and space to write about the man.
