Two high school girls soccer teams, Mattituck and Southold/Greenport, were looking at low player numbers individually had they gone into the 2018 season alone. And so, Mattituck/Southold/Greenport — or MSG as the team was called in shorthand — was created. READ
Making the decision to step down as Southold High School’s baseball coach after so many years on the job wasn’t an easy one for Mike Carver. It was made easier, however, when a doctor told him he needed to have both of his kneecaps replaced. READ
It’s safe to say that Liz Dwyer made her mark on the Mattituck High School girls basketball team. And while Dwyer’s senior tour last season didn’t end up exactly where she wanted, she and her teammates did pretty well for themselves. READ

It’s a big state, and there are plenty of good high school boys basketball teams in New York. Greenport definitely was one of them, but it was the Porters’ misfortune to run into an even better one in the state Class C semifinals. READ
After decades and decades of never having produced a state wrestling champion, Mattituck High School turned out two of them for the second straight year in 2018. Of course, there was a neat twist with the two most recent crowned champs: They’re twins. READ
