Today in sports: Full slate of boys soccer action

All three local boys soccer teams come into today fighting for playoff positioning in their respective leagues. As the teams hit the second half of their league schedules, each game grows more and more important.

The Southold boys will host Smithtown Christian at 4:30 p.m. Southold comes into the game at 4-1-1 in League VIII, which has them tied with Pierson. Both teams trail Port Jefferson in the standings. The Royals are 6-0-1. Overall Southold comes into today with a 6-3-1 record. Southold won 1-0 against Smithtown Christian in their first meeting.

Also in League VIII, Greenport/Shelter Island comes into today one game behind Southold and Pierson at 3-2-1. Greenport will look to keep pace when it hosts The Stony Brook School at 4:30 p.m. Stony Brook is winless in league at 0-6-1. Overall Greenport is 3-6-1.

In League VII Mattituck hosts Babylon at 4:30 p.m. The Tuckers are 4-2 in league and 7-3 overall. Babylon is 2-4 and 2-7-1 overall.

Mattituck comes into the game two behind Southampton (6-0) in the standings.

Mattituck has already beaten Babylon once this season, 4-0.

Southampton (6-4) at Greenport (7-3), 4:30 p.m.

Stony Brook (3-7) at Southold/Greenport (3-4), 4:30 p.m.

GIRLS TENNIS

Mattituck (14-0) at SWR (10-5), 4 p.m.
