Two games remain. Two chances to punch a ticket to the postseason.

Tonight, the Southold boys basketball team gets its first chance to clinch a playoff spot when the First Settlers host Smithtown Christian at 6:15 p.m.

Southold comes into the game with a 7-7 record in League VIII, one win shy of the total to clinch a postseason spot. Smithtown Christian is 5-8 and would need wins in its final three games to make the playoffs.

When the teams met for the first time, Smithtown Christian prevailed 57-42.

If the First Settlers lose, they’ll have another chance Thursday at home against The Stony Brook School.

In other action tonight, the Mattituck boys and girls hoops teams face Babylon. The boys (7-5 League VII) are on the road for a 6:15 p.m. tip-off. The girls (5-3 League VII) are home, also at 6:15 p.m.

The Greenport boys basketball team (6-7 League VIII) is home tonight to face Pierson (11-2) at 5:45 p.m.
