Traditional Irish music concert set for March 8 in Southold

Eamonn O’Rourke, Gabriel Donohue and John Whelan, all well-known in the traditional music world, will give a concert of traditional Irish music from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at St. Patrick Church in Southold. 

Concert proceeds benefit the church. Mr. O’Rourke plays fiddle, guitar, mandolin and banjo and moves between the Irish, country western, bluegrass and jazz genres. He has toured for eight years with Grammy Award winner Kathy Mattea.

Mr. Donohue sings and plays guitar, piano, mandolin and bouzouki. He has performed on six continents and appeared with Jay Leno. Mr. Whelan is the eight-time all Ireland button accordion champion. He has made numerous recordings and toured throughout the U.S., Ireland and Europe.

Tickets, $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12, are available at Southold Pharmacy, Rothman’s Department Store and Robert’s Jewelers, all in Southold, and at the door.
