St. Isidore Church hosts Polish Night, Friday, Sept. 9, 6-11 p.m. at St. Isidore School auditorium, 515 Marcy Ave., Riverhead to benefit its food pantry. Applebee’s in Riverhead hosts Flapjack Breakfast fundraiser, Sunday, Sept. 11, 8 a.m.-10 a.m. for Michael Hubbard, who is in Stony Brook hospital recovering from injuries he suffered in May, to help with costs of his mother being at his bedside full-time and anything Michael may need now and in future. Marquee Lighting Ceremony at historic Suffolk Theater, 118 East Main Street, Riverhead, Friday, Sept. 2, 8 p.m., as part of “A Night Out in Riverhead.” Theater owners Bob and Dianne Castaldi “throw the switch” on new digital marquee, installed as part of current renovation efforts at theater, built in 1933 but closed in 1987. A toast will be presented by the Riverhead Project (new Contemporary/American restaurant located in 350 East Main Street.) East End Arts is assisting in coordinating these promotional efforts.

Community Drum Circle, Wednesday nights, 6:30-7:30 p.m. throughout July and August at East End Arts Council’s Carriage House located behind the School of the Arts, 144 East Main Street, Riverhead.  Led by master drummer Jerome Liggon, participants learn traditional West African hand drumming and chant in drum circle setting. Participants instructed in proper hand use and technique to produce variety of sounds from single skin of Djembe drum. Drums are provided for on-site use. For ages ten and up.
