Nearly two months after it was originally slated to open on Route 58, Buffalo Wild Wings will get to open its doors once and for all on Friday.

Restaurant manager Andrew Schuett said Thursday that after waiting for the day himself, he’s excited to finally reach the finish line.

“We wanted to open up, trust me,” he said — especially after last Sunday’s Super Bowl, which certainly would have drawn a crowd. “Unfortunately we just got the permit we needed right before the Super Bowl, and we didn’t want everyone going in cold after waiting for two months.”

Mr. Schuett said no special grand opening day promotions will be held on Friday since Buffalo Wild Wings already offered free wings for a year (about a pound each week) in December. However he did add that about 20 more free sets of wings will be given out next weekend, when 96.1 will be at the restaurant on Feb. 15 from noon to 2 p.m.

The restaurant — in the same shopping plaza as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Christmas Tree Shops and Aldi — had held off on opening as the company’s landlord had yet to file an as-built site plan with the Suffolk County Department of Health. The other companies in the plaza opened up before the final paperwork was OK’d, and the plaza’s landlord incurred a $10,000 fine.

Starbuck’s which will operate out of an isolated building in the shopping center, is scheduled to open up in March.
