Cops: Drunk driver arrested in Greenport early Saturday

Southold Town police say they caught a 27-year-old man driving drunk in Greenport early Saturday.

According to a police news release, Marvin Gomez-Davila of Greenport was pulled over near the intersection of Webb Street and 3rd Street about 2:45 a.m. for blocking the road and having “excessively tinted windows.”

Police found Mr. Gomez-Davila had slurred speech, blood-shot and glassy eyes, a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath,”and open alcoholic beverages within his vehicle, according to the report.

He failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was arrested, police said.. Mr. Gomez-Davila was held for morning arraignment on a misdemeanor DWI charge.
