Editor’s picks: My favorite staff photos of 2015

I’d put this Suffolk Times cover photo of a frozen Long Island Sound, taken by contributing photographer Katharine Schroeder, in the “This could not have happened here category.” Of all the photographs I’ve seen capturing miserable winters, this one sums it up best. I love this shot, but I hope it never happens again.
