Achievements: Southold grad earns M.D. from Stony Brook School of Medicine
Three local students have made the spring dean’s list at SUNY/Oswego: Corinne Kimmelman of Cutchogue, a junior human development major; Sarah Manfredi of Southold, a senior also majoring in human development; and Christian Van Cleef of Orient, a junior whose major is software engineering.
• Dylan Hahn of Mattituck was honored for academic excellence during a recent honors convocation at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., where he is a junior. He received the Beavers Heavy Construction Scholarship, awarded to upperclassmen pursuing careers in the heavy construction industry.
• David Krumenacker of Greenport has been named to the spring dean’s list at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
• Jason Cockerill, son of Maria and Bob Cockerill of Southold, has earned an M.D. degree from the Stony Brook School of Medicine. The valedictorian of Southold High School’s Class of 2008, Dr. Cockerill also graduated from Stony Brook summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry/cell biology and mathematics. He will enter a residency program at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., specializing in anesthesiology and pain management with the surgical team.
