Photos: 2023 Greenport Maritime Festival

A little cloudy weather couldn’t stop North Forkers and visitors alike from attending the 2023 Greenport Maritime Festival on Oct. 22 and 23, rescheduled from its earlier October date.

Kicking off on Saturday with a parade led by grand marshal Skip Goldsmith, the festivities this year included the annual street fair, as well as a cardboard boat regatta on Sunday. While only four boats participated, the enthusiastic crowd cheered them all on. Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. won first place with Captain Aidan Vandenburgh and Eamon Deegan and their boat, “Down The Hatch!”

Captain Michael Conklin, Christine Hasbun, and Julia Moran’s “Boxy McBoxface” took Second Place and Most Creative.

The “Spirit Award” and Best Captain award went to Captain Cyrus Gatland and his boat, the “Orca.”

Captain Anakin Migone and Robert Elliston took home the Fastest Sinking Award and Andrea Doria Award for most spectacular sinking for the aptly named “Titanic.”
