On Dec. 11 the Cutchogue Civic Association held its annual meeting, then celebrated three great years with a get-together at Sannino Vineyard. The cold winds didn’t deter the group from looking back at all they’ve accomplished and having spirited discussions about future plans to keep the community abreast on issues of importance.

Author Talk and Dedication Highlight Community History
The Mattituck-Laurel Library recently welcomed author and journalist Steve Wick for an author talk and book signing of his latest work, All That Remains. The book tells the story of the last migrant farm workers in Cutchogue, NY, and features poignant photographs by former Newsday photographer and Wick’s longtime colleague, Viorel Florescu. During the event, the library dedicated a copy of All That Remains to the Unity Baptist Church of Mattituck as part of its ongoing commitment to preservation and remembrance. The dedication acknowledged the people whose lives and contributions helped shape the land and community — voices that had long been marginalized and excluded from the broader story of shared history.
