Weddings are often the high point of summer activities. Bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and ceremonies and receptions fill our calendars and put smiles on our faces. Best wishes to all the brides and grooms who chose this wonderful season on the North Fork to tie the knot.

July 16 is Adrienne Rehm’s birthday — and what better gift than watching her daughter Shannan walk down the aisle on her wedding day? Shannan will exchange vows with Kevin Maida at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church with a reception immediately following at Calverton Links. I saw her dad, Chris, the other day and he remarked that he can remember walking Shannan to the bus stop on the first day of school and now he’ll be walking her down the aisle. Time passes so quickly! May the day bring memories to last a lifetime!

Weddings continue to take center stage next week, when Christina D’Eletto and Jason Wesnofske join hands and hearts at St. Isidore Church. The couple will celebrate, surrounded by family and friends, with a reception at Majestic Gardens after exchanging vows. May your life together be full of love and laughter.

Celebrating birthdays this week are Eric Shaw on the 14th; Laura Kelly and Maria Ulmet on the 18th; and Kyle Steele and Dustin Strauss on the 20th.

Best wishes to Megan Bundrick, daughter of Linda and Bill Bundrick, who is in Oklahoma studying to be an air traffic controller. Megan is a 2005 graduate of Mattituck High School.

Congratulations to my daughter, Vanessa Arslanian, who has been invited to be a staff writer for Boston College Law School’s International and Comparative Law Review. Vanessa will begin her second year in law school in September and is currently completing an internship in the Queens District Attorney’s office.

You could tell from the many cars parked along Main Road last Saturday that the Love Lane Street Fair was once again a huge success. One of the many highlights was the crowning of Little Miss and Mr. Mattituck. Congratulations to this year’s winners, Torrance Shipman and Paul LoCascio.

If you’ve never seen a Youth on Stage production at North Fork Community Theatre, you’re truly missing one of the gems of the North Fork. This year’s production, “Footloose,” promises to be a fun, entertaining experience. For tickets, call 298-NFCT. The show opens July 28.
