Mattituck News: Spaghetti dinner, then a musical

02/05/2015 7:00 AM |

With the snow still surrounding us, what better way to enjoy a Friday night than with dinner and a musical! Tomorrow starting at 4 p.m., before the 7:30 performance of the high school musical, “Bye Bye Birdie,” the boys and girls track teams will host a spaghetti dinner. The cost is $10; children under 5 eat free. Come on down, enjoy some authentic Italian ambiance and then see our talented thespians on stage! (If you already saw last night’s debut performance, keep in mind the dinner runs until 8.)

Also before the show, at 6:15, there will be a ceremony officially naming the auditorium after former superintendent James McKenna.

The annual PTSA Fashion Show requires many hands to produce and there are many details involved. To achieve its goal, the date for this year’s event has been changed: Mark your calendars for March 26 at Vineyard Caterers. Tickets are $50 and will be on sale in the gym lobby March 10 and 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. In the past, tickets have sold out quickly so make sure you have your table names and checks ready and get in line in time to secure your spot.

Lenny Llewellyn, a cooperative observer of the National Weather Service, was interviewed recently on Public Radio WRIV. He gave a freelance report on the criteria the NWS uses to measure snow.

Belated birthday wishes to Missy Lechner, who enjoyed her special day surrounded by friends and family.

Also celebrating birthdays are EJ Danowski, Emily Gatz, Lucy Senesac, Donald Fahey III, Kim Braun, Emily Mincielli, Taylor Montgomery, Rebekah Conner, David Martinez, Jeff Hauser, Bryan Diffley, Evan Viola, Adrianna Lawson, Chris Polistena, Paul Wilsberg and Billy Young.
