WORTH NOTING Dance party puts focus on downtown and arts

The East End Arts Council’s “Downtown Dance Party” on May 22, 8-11 p.m., will feature live music by hometown band Center Stage and offers delicious pub food by Digger O’Dell’s Fine Food and Spirits as well as a cash bar.

The Storefront Gallery will also exhibit a juried show sponsored by the EEAC featuring large water-themed works of art displayed in vacant storefront windows on Main Street. This show will be up all summer, courtesy of both Apollo and Riverhead Enterprise, which donated the use of the storefront windows.

Other local sponsors are the Center Stage Band and the Riverhead Business Improvement District.

The Downtown Dance Party was organized by the East End Arts Council and will be held at 121 East Main St., Riverhead. Advance tickets will be sold for $15 until May 20; after that the price is $20. To purchase, call 727-0900 or visit eastendarts.org
