Correction

The Achievements column incorrectly listed the military branch that Southold resident Ryan Brodarick will enter upon his graduation from Virginia Tech. Mr. Brodarick will enter the Marines.

Nicholas Deegan was incorrectly identified as chairman of the Mattituck Park District in an Aug. 5 story. He is a commissioner, but Doris McGreevy is chairwoman of the district. Voting takes place between 5 and 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Aug. 12.

Clarification

Former Oysterponds School Board of Education member Carl Demarest favors moving elementary school students in grades one through six to Greenport, but wouldn’t consolidate the two districts. Rather, he would like the district to pay tuition to Greenport and then use the current Oysterponds building for kindergartners and special education students who could be sent in from other districts and charged tuition.
