Cutchogue-New Suffolk: MHS drama club presents musical

Bravo to the student choreographers, faculty and staff involved with “Dancing with the Staff” at Mattituck High School. Once again, everyone gave their all to raise funds for the Jazz Ensemble.

MHS faculty members are diverse in their talents and on Thursday, Feb. 10, you can see some of them take on The Harlem Wizards. Tickets are $12, and are available at Love Lane Sweet Shoppe and at home basketball games. This event is sponsored by the PTSA and the Booster Club.

Don’t miss the MHS Drama Club musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” a family-friendly show with performances Feb. 9-11 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7.

Prayers of healing are sent to John Tardif and belated birthday wishes to his wife, Shelly. Happy birthday to Terri Park on Feb 7.

Brownie Troop 156 is recycling old CDs and DVDs. Bring your discards to the main office at Cutchogue East, the MHS attendance office, or the children’s room at Cutchogue-New-Suffolk Library. The troop thanks you in advance for doing your part to help save the earth!

Looking for a nursery school? Southold Ecumenical Nursery School is hosting open houses at Southold Presbyterian Church and Mattituck at the Advent Lutheran Church in Mattituck on Saturday, Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Join in the multi-generational family service at North Fork Reform Synagogue this Saturday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. Parents, children, grandparents, aunts and uncles are invited to a special Shabbat service at the synagogue’s home in Cutchogue Presbyterian Church. Refreshments and a craft will follow in the downstairs Community Room. Call 722-5712.

Artwork by Mike Stanko and Stacey Brandfon will be unveiled Saturday, Feb. 5, during a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rothman’s Gallery in Southold. Caroline Doctorow and the Steamrollers will perform. Refreshments.

February is Library Lovers’ Month at Cutchogue-New Suffolk Library. You can register kids in grades K-2 for Lego-Mania, scheduled for Friday, Feb. 4, 4-5 p.m. A snack will be served. Ages 4 and 5 can enjoy a story, craft and snack on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 6:30-7:15 p.m. The Friends of the Library invite everyone to enjoy the jazzy sounds of The SunnyLand Jazz Band, Sunday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The New York State Driver Safety Course will be given on Wednesdays, Feb. 9 an 16. You must register and attend both sessions. Fee: $30.
