A Greenport man involved in a hit-and-run early Thursday was found drunk in the car in the middle of a Greenport road, Southold Town police said.
Remberto Macua, 29, now faces a misdemeanor charge for driving while intoxicated, police said.
Mr. Macua was “involved in a motor vehicle accident” about 2:15 a.m. near Ludlam Place and fled the scene, according to a police report. Cops later found Mr. Macua inside the vehicle, which was stopped in the road with the keys in the ignition and the engine running, police said.
Police said Mr. Macua failed roadside sobriety tests and was arrested.
