Cops: Westhampton man was driving drunk in Southold

A Westhampton man was arrested early Sunday morning after he was observed crossing the double yellow and white lined along Main Road in Southold, town police said.

Peter Ethier, 24, was stopped by police shortly after 3 a.m. and they found he had the “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath,” while also in possession of marijuana, police said in a press release.

He was arrested, transported to police headquarters and held for a Sunday morning arraignment.

He’s facing charges of DWI, criminal possession of a controlled substance (concentrated cannabis) and unlawful possession of marijuana.
