Authorities: Two people suffer minor injuries after Route 48 crash

A portion of Route 48 in Mattituck was briefly closed Wednesday morning after two vehicles collided near the Old Sound Avenue intersection.

Mattituck Fire Department officials said the accident occurred around 9 a.m. and two people were taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for minor injuries.

No other details about the accident were immediately available.
