Mattituck Lions Club donates $10K to SBELIH emergency care
The Mattituck Lions Club has donated $10,000 to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital to help purchase a blanket warmer for the hospital’s emergency department.
The addition will help keep patients warm during treatment, particularly for those experiencing trauma, illness or extended wait times.
“We are incredibly grateful for the Mattituck Lions Club and their ongoing commitment to our hospital,” said Linda Sweeney, vice president of Foundation and External Affairs for the Greenport hospital. “This is one of many meaningful contributions they have made over the years, and this latest gift will have a direct impact on the patient experience in our emergency department. Their partnership truly reflects the strength and generosity of our North Fork community.”
In addition to their philanthropic support, the Mattituck Lions Club is partnering with SBELIH as a sponsor of the annual Mattituck Strawberry Festival, one of the region’s most beloved community events. This summer’s festival will mark its 71st year on the North Fork.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with the Lions Club through the Strawberry Festival,” Ms. Sweeney said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with our community and celebrate the shared commitment to supporting local health and wellness.”
