Cops: Southold woman drove drunk with two children in the car

A Southold woman was arrested Sunday night after police said she was observed driving drunk on Main Road in Mattituck with two children in the car.

Elizabeth Strauss, 38, was charged with aggravated DWI Leandra’s Law and endangering the welfare of a child. Both children were under the age of 15, Southold Town Police said.

The incident occurred about 9:40 p.m. for a traffic violation on Route 25 in Mattituck and found to be intoxicated. Ms. Strauss was held overnight at Southold Police headquarters for a Monday morning arraignment.
