Here’s a few happy photos to brighten up this gloomy Tuesday morning.

Reader Mary Lou Wilson said she’d noticed a pair of mallard ducks in the pond behind her home for several days, but it wasn’t until Sunday that she realized they were expecting. That’s when Ms. Wilson spotted Mama Duck and about a dozen baby ducklings swimming around in the pond.

“They are the most precious babies,” she said. “ I just have to keep my yellow lab, Baby, from trying to chase them away.”
