Southold Police Report

Mary-Ellen Seekamp, 55, of Northport was charged with petit larceny last Tuesday at 12:02 p.m., after an investigation revealed that she stole several items, including belts, a wallet and a purse, earlier that day from Di Angela Leather on Main Street in Greenport, police said. The stolen items, worth a total of $423, were recovered, police said.

* A 43-year-old Port Jefferson man reported to police on Sunday, May 2, that $12,100 worth of fishing equipment, including several rods and reels, tackle bags and a radio, were stolen from his 37-foot fishing boat while it was docked in Greenport on Saturday, May 1, police said. The items had been stored in a locked cabin, which had been pried open, police said.

* Susan Stumpfler, 54, of Southold was driving a 1995 Toyota last Tuesday at 11:54 a.m., when she pulled forward out of a parking spot on Griffing Street in Cutchogue and struck a 2004 Chevrolet driven by David Blados, 49, of Cutchogue, police said. Ms. Stumpfler and her 22-year-old passenger were taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital for evaluation, police said.

* Thomas Surozenski, 18, of Southold, was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup truck last Tuesday at 8:06 a.m. when, at the corner of Main Bayview Road and Route 25 in Southold, his wet sneakers slipped off the brake pedal and his truck hit a 1995 Volvo in front of him driven by Aldo Maiorana, 61, of East Marion, police said. Mr. Maiorana was taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital for evaluation, police said.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
