Marjorie Ann Rodenburg

Marjorie Ann Rodenburg passed on August 17, 2011, at the age of 85.

Born on May 11, 1926, to Agnes and William Bartlett Jr. A graduate of Greenport High School in 1944 and later a graduate of The Southampton School of Nursing in 1947.

As a registered nurse she worked at North Shore Hospital, Eastern Long Island Hospital and San Simeon by the Sound.

In 1958 she married Albert (“Rody”) Rodenburg of Greenport and moved to Southold on Jockey Creek. She was a loving wife to Rody, who preceded her in 1987; a wonderful mother to her surviving children, Lee William Rodenburg, and Ann Agnes Vandenburgh of Southold; adored by her son-in-law, Richard Vandenburgh, and her grandchildren, Albert Aidan and Ethan Lee Vandenburgh.

She enjoyed the bucolic life on Jockey Creek and the company of family, friends and neighbors. Marjorie was a compassionate and thoughtful person who touched the lives of so many.

Visitation was held on August 19 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on August 20 at St. Patrick R.C. Church with Father Peter Garry presiding. Interment followed at St. Patrick Cemetery.
