John Bogovic

New Suffolk resident John Bogovic died Nov. 11 at the age of 93.

He was born Aug. 13, 1919, to Joseph and Ante (Milovcic) Bogovic in Bogovic, Croatia. He married Desanka Fiorentin on Nov. 14, 1945, in Croatia. They came to the United States in 1958, making their home in Astoria, Queens, and moved to New Suffolk in 1981.

Mr. Bogovic was employed as a welder for Con Edison in New York City for 17 years. Family members said he enjoyed boating and fishing.

Predeceased by his brother, Milorad, Mr. Bogovic is survived by his wife and his son, Joseph, of Oakland Gardens, N.Y.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A funeral service will take place Thursday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabama R.C. Church in Cutchogue. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Southold.
