Cops: Cutchogue man caught with drugs in Greenport

A 28-year-old man is facing drug possession charges after he was caught with heroin, marijuana and prescription drugs while walking in Greenport early Saturday, police said.

A Southold cop was on patrol on Main Street when he smelled a “strong odor of marijuana” coming from Ryan Williford of Cutchogue about 1:20 a.m., according to a news release. Mr. Williford was searched and police found he was in possession of marijuana, heroin and three adderall pills that were not prescribed to him, police said.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of misdemeanor drug possession, one count of misdemeanor criminal marijuana possession and one count of possession of a hypodermic needle, according to the news release.

Mr. Williford was released on cash bail with a future court date.
