Dragica Pocina
Dragica Pocina of Southold died Aug. 10 at Silvercrest Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Briarwood, N.Y. She was 81.
She was born May 29, 1929, to Marko and Milka (Kvaternik Beuk) in Jasenas, Croatia, where she was raised and had been an art teacher.
After moving to the United States, she worked as a commercial artist for Alva Museum Replicas in New York City.
Predeceased by her husband, Edward, in 2007, Ms. Pocina is survived by her daughter, Helen Karhan of Queens; her son, Goran, of New Jersey; and three grandchildren.
The family received visitors Aug. 21 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold, where Roman Catholic prayer services were conducted by Father George Michell. Interment followed at St. Patrick R.C. Cemetery in Southold.
