Photo: Strange place for a boat to get stuck

BOB GHOSIO COURTESY PHOTO | A boat was stranded in the middle of the road after the owner’s trailer malfunctioned, police said.

A boat being stuck is nothing new. It happens all the time – in the water. When it happens on land, it’s worth noting.

Southold Town Police responded to a call Friday that a boat had fallen on to Route 48 in Mattituck after the owner’s trailer malfunctioned, police said.

After a short time, the trailer was fixed and the captain and his ship went merry on their way, police said.
