Elizabeth J. Homan

Longtime Cutchogue resident Elizabeth J. Homan died Oct. 26 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. She was 87.

She was born Feb. 18, 1928, in Brooklyn to Charles and Martha Unbekant. She attended Cutchogue West Schools and Bushwick High School.

Ms. Homan was a homemaker who also helped her husband at his business, Braun’s Seafood in Cutchogue. She was a member of Cutchogue-New Suffolk Homemakers and the Red Hat Society. Family members said she enjoyed the North Fork’s fine wines.

Ms. Homan is survived by her husband, James, whom she married June 19, 1949, in Aquebogue; her children, Shirley Garden of Buffalo, N.Y., and Kenneth, of Peconic; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family received visitors Oct. 28 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue, where a funeral service was held Oct. 29. Interment was at Cutchogue Cemetery.
