Police: Man hit in the face with a bottle during Greenport fight

A Southold man faces a felony assault charge after striking another man in the face with a bottle during a Thursday night fight, police reported.

Allen Paul Brown Jr., 20, was charged with second-degree assault after striking another man during a dispute at Lakeside Garden Apartments on North Street, according to police. The other man suffered a deep laceration on the right side of his face and was taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment, police said.

Mr. Brown, who was arrested shortly after midnight, was held overnight pending arraignment.
